EUSR CARD

The EUSR Card is used to record and demonstrate training, skills and competency for people working across the UK energy and utilities sector. EUSR, the Energy & Utility Skills Register, maintains a register of training and skills records covering a wide range of utility-related roles and specialist activities.

EUSR registrations cover sectors including gas, power, telecommunications, water, waste management and cross-sector activities. The specific registration a worker requires depends on their occupation, training and the work they carry out.

An EUSR registration can be represented by a virtual card, which is issued as standard, while a physical plastic smart card can also be requested where required. The virtual card can be displayed on a smartphone and checked electronically.

EUSR also acts as the CSCS Alliance Partner for the utilities sector. Certain EUSR registrations are issued on CSCS Partner cards, allowing appropriately qualified utilities workers to demonstrate their relevant training and qualifications when working on construction sites.
Depending on the scheme, EUSR registration may cover areas such as utility excavation, confined spaces, network operations, cable jointing and other specialist activities. Some registrations require successful completion of approved training and assessment before registration is awarded.

For employers and contractors, EUSR registration provides a way to verify an individual’s training and skills record through the EUSR register. This can help sites confirm that workers have the appropriate competence for the role they are undertaking.

Important: an EUSR card or registration should be obtained through the appropriate training and registration process. It is not simply a card that can legitimately be purchased without meeting the relevant scheme requirements.
