The Jib ECS Card

The ECS card is the only identification and competence card valid for electrotechnical operatives in the UK. It is recognised and endorsed by the industry.  The card proves your identity, qualified status and occupation when working on-site. It is affiliated to the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) and the ECS card is the card relevant to the eectrotechnical industry. 

ECS cards are only issued by the JIB but before a card can be obtained applicants must demonstrate they have the required level of health & safety awareness. This can be done either by providing evidence of a valid exemption or by passing the ECS health & safety assessment.

Unite runs these assessments to promote health & safety awareness and best practice in the electrical contracting and construction industry. The cost is £48 for Unite members and £54 for non – members
